From Father to Son

One from the heart

Seems just the other day, you came to us as a bundle of joy

Surprising everyone, by being a boy.

Into a fine young man, You have now grown

And are on threshold of setting off on your own.

We are proud of your achievements and everything that you have done.

All the accolades you have received and the hearts you have won.

Your life of comfort and loving care will undergo a change

As you step out into the world that may seem strange.

We may now have to learn how to live apart

But distance will only bring you closer to our heart

Life for us is going to change too

You will be missed in everything we do.

The flavor would be lacking in your mom's cooking.

She will be crying even if others are looking.

The fun will be gone when I'm watching the cricket matches

the cheering together during the sixes, wickets and catches.

Believe me your sister will miss you too

You may deny it, but so will you.

As yet, you may not stand each other's sight

You will think back and wonder why you both did always fight

You have shared with her so much not just a room.

By the time you return, she would have gone with her groom.

Being women, it is easy for your mom and sis to cry

Let me be a man enough to accept, at times, silently so will I.

Each day will be spent waiting for your call

Even if you ring up to say ,nothing at all.

The memories and emotions should not make you weak

They should be your strength, to reach your professional peak

In your life ahead there will be temptations galore

Be careful and all your actions think before.

Look for opportunities and what ever you do

Pause to consider if it will make us proud of you.

Go son, conquer the world and always aim high

In your case the limit is not even the sky.

When the heart is full, the words are few.

We give you our best wishes and blessings.

May God be with you.

Papa
